Thanksgiving break

We did not get much sightseeing done Thanksgiving week in spite of the school break.  Joshua wanted to get work done on his ceramics casserole dish.  Also, traffic looked heavier than usual, so it is probably better that we stayed in Fremont.

Tuesday we did manage to check out a car-themed playground and find a geocache.
Benjamin discover this geocache.  When he first picked it up, he said, "this is the only thing here and it can't be the geocache".  After finding no other possibilities, I asked him to look at it again, and that thing turned out to be the geocache!

Thursday, we enjoyed lasagna, pizza and eggplant parmigiana Thanksgiving dinner with Iyer and his extended family.  The kids enjoyed playing soccer with the other kids and desert (ice cream, cupcakes and pie) was their favorite course.

Friday we drove down to Ano Nuevo to see the elephant seals, which are on the beach "24/7 365 days a year".

Dave commented on this second endangered species.

Saturday Dave and the kids biked through Quarry Lakes Recreation Area
I like seeing the birds on bike rides through Quarry Lakes.
Then we explored Dry Creek Pioneer Garden which was closed when we had come here with Grandma

and found the Union City Library.  Joshua wanted to check out One Piece DVDs.
